Just yesterday I shared an elevator ride with a Mom and her cute little daughter. It was such a meaningful moment in time. Especially remembering on a day like this: International Day of The Girl Child!
I guess I was meant to be in that elevator at that exact time yesterday. The way she asked why there is no 18 between numbers 17 and 19 on the control panel. How she became so serious when her Mom gave her the answer, confidently saying: “oh yeah, that could be true”.
Although I just met her, I said, “hello Friend” as they exited the elevator. At first she just gave me a flick of her hand with her back turned to me. But as the doors were about to close, she turned and gave an innocently mischievous smile over her shoulder, the kind only a little girl can give..
… and I heard a tiny, faint “hello friend” as the doors just about closed….
To all of you “Girl Children”: Have a wonderful day!
